Education for Life

In the past few months, I have been doing a lot of soul-searching. I’ve been trying to figure out
my purpose in life - and before you say, “Wait, you’re retired! You don’t need a purpose!” I would remind you that every person needs a purpose. Without it, you are just existing, and doing so at a substandard level. You know the saying, “get busy living, or get busy dying.” And I truly believe our purpose in life must be something that allows us to help others in some small way.
With this soul-searching, I have come to realize that I don’t want to sell anything to anyone. I don’t believe in it. When someone presents you with an offer to buy something - anything - you either like the idea or you don’t. And if you don’t like the idea, but continue to listen to a sales pitch, you may end up buying something you don’t like, don’t want, don’t need - and that comes with a boatload of resentment. So, if I’ve ever sold you on something that you were unhappy with, I sincerely apologize.

Don’t get me wrong. I still love essential oils and believe in them whole-heartedly. I love all of the Young Living products, too. Do I use them all? Some, yes. But I’ve also figured out how to make my own products and save money while living “clean.” But this lifestyle is not for everyone, and those who love it were simply ready for it. We make choices all the time about the foods we eat, the products we buy, whether or not we exercise or eat the cake … in order for someone to truly embrace this lifestyle, they have to be ready. It’s not just a product to buy or an oil to diffuse. It’s about wanting the best for yourself - your body, and those of your family members. So no amount of me “selling” you on a product or lifestyle will help you to love the products if you’re not ready. That would only cause resentment.
So, what does this all mean? I’m going to focus on helping others to get healthy. I’ve discovered a lot along the way, and since teaching has always been my thing, I’m going to focus on that. Not just essential oils, but everything within our lifestyle choices that has an impact on health. I’m going to teach classes on essential oils locally and online where needed, and coach anyone who wants to learn. I’m going to continue my weekly Zaturday Zoom chat, which focuses on health and wellness and how to be our best selves. (We welcome any and all zoomers to join us - 11am EST.) Am I perfect? Hell no. But as my husband says, on the road to wellness, I'm a lot further ahead on the path than he is currently. So, I feel I have something to offer.

What does this mean for you? Well, as a current, former, or future customer, I am here to offer you any assistance you need. If you want to know more about an oil, or what oils can help with a problem, give me a call! (Text, PM, FaceTime, etc.) I am always available to help you with whatever you need, but you need to reach out. I have been posting on Linda Loves Lavender (FB) or on this website, sending Happy Mail, samples, emails or texts about sales - all things designed to help educate you, but also to sell to you. At this point, I’m not interested in pushing sales. If people love and want the products, great! But I fear I may have alienated a few of you with too many texts or reminders, and I’m done being the pushy salesperson. As I said before, this is a lifestyle choice and when you’re ready for it, you know where to find me.
What I will offer or continue:
Daily Diffuser text message - If you’re already getting these, you will keep getting them until you tell me otherwise. If you’d like to receive them, let me know!
Monthly reminder via text when your subscription (ER) order date is approaching.
Notification of sales, monthly “free gift with purchase”, or new product releases - This will always be on the website under “sales and promos,” but if you want personal notification, please let me know!
Weekly reminder for Zaturday Zoom
Whatever YOU personally need from me. But again, you need to ask! So, here is my contact information. Put it in a safe place, because when you suddenly need an answer down the road, you’ll want to be able to reach me quickly!
I go by my full name on FaceBook

I’ve also set up this google form so that you can easily communicate your needs.
GOOGLE FORM PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! Take a moment to complete this SHORT form!
What else? Oh - FaceBook! Since I have not been posting regularly in Linda Loves Lavender, I will be archiving this group and just leaving it so you can search for past content/recipes, etc. If you’re not part of the Living Well and Wise group, I would suggest that you join that group. That page focuses on overall wellness, and it’s where you can find the weekly Zoom chat streamed live (or on replay.) Zoom is also on my youtube page or on my website, so if you miss it, there is always a place to catch up.

I’ve discovered a lot about myself in the past six years and I’m grateful that I’ve learned so much about how to take better care of myself. It’s not just one thing, and yes, it can be overwhelming to try to balance everything at once. I don’t think I was ready for it earlier in life … too much to cope with just “surviving” each day in the workforce … but now that I’m getting older, I realize that now is the time to make the rest of my years truly count. I’m not planning on getting old, so I’m doing what I need to do so that my mind and body stay young, too! I don’t have all the answers, so I love opportunities to talk and share ideas. The more you know … right?
I invite you to join me in this quest for self-discovery, self-improvement, and self-learning. The more the merrier - and the more we learn.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. I thank you in advance for your comments on the google form - and welcome the opportunity to continue growing with you.
With Love,
